We talk a lot about data functions on this blog. Sometimes you’ll get a TIBCO Spotfire analysis (DXP) that has an embedded data function. To see the data functions and edit their parameters you just have to go to Edit > Data Function Properties.
Once you’re in that prompt, you can set the Inputs and Outputs for the data function instance. It’s pretty flexible to what you can hook up to the inputs – could be a column, entire table, document property or constant value. You can also adjust if the rows should be limited – either by marking or filtering. So, you have a lot of power at your fingertips if you try different inputs and outputs to the data functions you already have.
You can grab some free examples of data functions here off of Exchange.ai.
